Car: 2000 Trans Am
Engine: LS1
Transmission: T56
86 Camaro, rolling chassis race car, NHRA certified cage, more w/in !!!SOLD!!!
For sale
No trades
Car has been off the street for a number of years now. it is and has been sitting in an enclosed trailer for a couple of years now. The following list should describe what is included with the car. All parts listed are installed in or on the car. I WILL NOT part this vehicle out.
86 IROC
14 point mild steel roll cage NHRA competition certified May 03
Ford 9" rear w/ 3.50 gears and posi diff
Southside machine welded in frame connectors
PA Racing Tubular k-member WITHOUT motor mounts
PA Racing Tubular a-arms - mild steel
PA Racing front coil over kit (will have to verifiy current springs)
Lakewood 90/10 struts
Spohn Tubular adjustable panhard arm
Wilwood front disc brake kit
Tubular panhard rod
tubular rear lower control arms
QA1 12 way adjustable rear shocks
stock sumped gas tank with included -10/-6 supply/return braided line to engine bay
Jegs plastic racing seats
full autometer gauge set *woohoo*!!
All wiring and HVAC removed from under dash
flat aluminum racing spoiler with adjustable support struts
For those of you who have been around this board for a long time, this is THE camaro that I have managed to throw project after project under the hood of and manage to sell off. LOL Now the car is going on the block. I havent messed with it for a couple of years due to lack of funds, and just a lack of interest. I had started to drop an LS1 into it and I ended up nixing the idea after getting it in there with a powerglide tranny and a thumper frame turbo mounted in there. You will see some framing in the core support area where I have a turbo support system welded in (which can be cut out and smoothed back to normal by the buyer if desired). The car could use some cosmetic help in that the paint is rough in a couple of areas, there is some wiring not in looms at the moment and the front nose is usable but a suitable replacement would help out the appearance more.
it should be mentioned again that this car was a RACE CAR and would take some serious effort to put to street car condition. It does not have stock motor mounts in it. You will need to mount an engine with a motor plate (which the frame is setup for in the engine bay)
Im not interested in doing anything else to this car. I will not part it out. I will not separate it. i will not deliver it. Its going as it sits right now.
the car is located in Connersville Indiana (google it if you dont know where it is). it is also rolling on a set of steel chevy rims. I know they wont look good in the pictures, but thats all I have to put on the car to get it to roll at the moment.
E-Mail or post here with questions.
Serious inquiries only please.
Asking price: $4500
Here are some images of the car that I took recently.

Someone buy this. I am willing to take substantially less to move this.
No longer interested in working on this car, and the money could be put towards my upcoming wedding.
Thanks

$2000.
Someone come get this thing. The rear end & torque arm alone are worth that. Plus you get awesome brakes, and a slew of other goodies, not to mention a car. Someone come buy this so I can pay for the last of my wedding.
Thanks

Look closely in this picture. THERE ARE NO MOTOR MOUNTS.
It had a motor plate before. it needs new motor mounts welded/fabricated to put any engine back in it without a motor plate.

Can you tell me what engine the motor mounts on the car mount up to? Please say LS2 That would be cool.
I'm not interested in the car. Just thought it would be cool.

Re: 86 Camaro, rolling chassis race car, NHRA certified cage, more w/in
Guido,
I'll buy it. ($2800) Keep in mind I will have to have it shipped to Dallas, TX. Just a couple of coveats. The car will need to have motor mounts for a standard SBC. I say this because I fear my cog driven F1R engine brackets will not clear the inner fender tube brace you have added. Will you be willing to add the mounts and put the front nose cover back on prior to shipping it?
Additional questions:
1. What type of tranny cross member does it have?
2. Do you have a drive shaft that will work with a 700R4 or T400?
3. Do the lights still work?
4. Does the hood come with it?
5. T-top cars are not ideal race cars. Is the body showing signs of twist?
6. Has the rear been narrowed at all?
7. Who's 9" (Strange, Currie, junkyard, etc.)? More info please.
8. Exhaust provisions?
Email me at kendol.c.everroad@cummins.com and we can talk. This is a serious offer.

Yeah, I've tried his email, I have PM'd him, and posted here. I'm beginning to think I need to look else where. I, like most people, have a lot of projects going on and I would like to get moving on my race car project before summer. I could definately find other things to spend my money on. Either way, thanks for the help.

Re: 86 Camaro, rolling chassis race car, NHRA certified cage, more w/in
Sorry I was away for the past few days and wasnt able to get a fast reply out to anyone except those who had my telephone number.
As it sits, the car is being picked up this coming Saturday. Should something fall through, I will post here that it has. If that is the case however, I am not interested in doing anything to this car period.
To answer the questions from above:
Additional questions:
1. What type of tranny cross member does it have?
Its setup for a TH400, however there is a piece of chromoly tubing welded in where I had started fabricating a mount for a powerglide but didnt finish.
2. Do you have a drive shaft that will work with a 700R4 or T400?
No driveshaft. And I wont provide one. You will need something custom anyway
3. Do the lights still work?
yes
4. Does the hood come with it?
yes
5. T-top cars are not ideal race cars. Is the body showing signs of twist?
No this car is totally tied together with welded in subframe connectors and a roll cage that would make a chassis car take a second look, plus its NHRA certified. This body does not twist
6. Has the rear been narrowed at all?
The rear is a stock 3rd gen width as far as I know
7. Who's 9" (Strange, Currie, junkyard, etc.)? More info please.
The rear end started as a currie I believe. I bought it used but it had never been installed. Since moser is here in Indiana, I had them retool it to use their mounting bracketery so for all intents and purposes, its a Moser 9"
8. Exhaust provisions?
None. You would have to build your own

What's your current offer? PM me or call me and we might be able to work something out. I am serious about my offer and can have it wired, PayPaled, or sent via certified check (car sight unseen) as early as tomorrow. I've been looking at this car for awhile and my interest has only grown. I'll PM you my personal cell number so we can talk.
