New to the forum, time to get an 89 IROC
Greetings,
OK, my dream car is a '71 hemi cuda, since I don't have a few million to spend that's out. 2nd dream car was a '77 "Bandit" (I know, its a false narrative) Trans Am - at +70K, that's out. My 3rd favorite was always the '89 IROC. With sales figures last month at Barrett-Jackson CT ('85 concours level sold for 18K, and an '89 museum quality sold for 20K) and last week at Mecum a very nice, very correct '89 sold for 7K, the market has died for this car. Great news for me, bad news for others who have spent big money buying and restoring these very cool cars and are trying to sell them. Now they're "affordable". Looking for a 1989 IROC, automatic, L98 engine (240hp), factory t-tops, factory correct ergo no GPS upgrades, etc. Factory stock. I'm OK with the interior being changed (seats, carpet, etc) as long as its correct. High mileage doesn't scare me, its not a daily driver, it might be driven 4-5 times a year to a cruise or show. Yes I'll want pics/video of the car on a lift underneath to check for rust, I'm not afraid to buy a car sight unseen, I'm driving one now, if I get enough documentation, pictures, video, etc. Yellow cars are not desirable. I'm in the north east region (Cape Cod). Looking locally and the east coast only, I have a friend who owns a trucking company that makes regular runs up and down the coast, so cars on the left side or in the middle can't be considered due to cost in shipping. Looking forward to making new friends and learning more about this very cool car on this forum, thanks!

Welcome.
Your first bit of trivia is 1989 IROC + T-Tops + L98 = 230 hp.

Thanks chazman! My mistake, 230hp. It was late when I was making the post, LOL! Should have added in my original post I'm not afraid of a car that needs interior attention, seats, carpet, etc. or MINOR engine work. But the body has to be perfect.

Lots of 89's pop up for sale all over the net. Check craigslist, Ebay, FB groups
