Hello from British Columbia
I live in Victoria B.C. I am the original owner of a 1989 Trans Am GTA, which came with a 5.0 liter TPI engine and 5-speed transmission. It is metallic flame red with T-tops. Recent upgrades include a new 5.0 liter long block from GM, Heddman Headers, new exhaust system without the calalytic converters, a Walker superturbo muffler, Comp Cam, K&N airfiler, Bosch mass airflow sensor and a coolant bypass for the throttle body. The car was repainted in the original colour 2 summers ago. Who else is out there from BC or Vancouver Island?
Check out www.vancouverfbody.com for the Vancouver scene, theres also www.vifbody.ca for Van Island...

No pictures however, I belong to the Vancouver Island F Body Association and my car is listed under the members page. By the way what is a $58 code?

The computer program is from a syty turbo truck installed into a 90-92 thirdgen computer so my car can read boost.
Wow original owner, I missed that part, how's your feelings towards the car after owning it since new?

I factory ordered my 1989 GTA in December 1988 and it was delivered in May 1989. It is a little cheaper to do it this way plus you get the car exactly the way you want it. However, you do have to wait a few months. The purchase price was $25,100, which was financed by GMAC at a 9.9% rate, which was very good at the time as car loans would have been about 12% to 15%. The car spent the first year of its life in Vancouver where I was living at the time. Then I moved to Victoria where I have lived ever since. It has been a pretty good car with annual maintenance of about $1,500 per year to keep it in excellent shape. I understand this is about average annual maintenance to maintain a car. A few years ago I decided to keep the car and invest in the drive train rather than buying a new car so I have done a lot of work recently. I hope as the years go by these cars will appreciate in value as so few were made.

Hey How is it going, I'm from Ladysmith. I have an 89' Firebird that I am in the early stages of restoring. Good to see people from the Island on here.
Take Care
