4 '10's
I've this idea. I have 2 10's , 2 250 watt amps and a farad in my car now. I've just come upon 2 more 10's and 2 more 250 watt amps. I've got 2 of them in the classic position in the rear area, same place everyone else does. Question is, would it be possible to mount those 2 additional amps under the rear seats ? Anyone ever tried it ?
You could always mount them on the back part of the fold down rear seats. Others have done this and said they do get a little hot so maybe install some fans back there too? (I used computer case fans once ... newer tech 60mm or 80mm fans for CPU cases flow alot of air).
But honestly I say you re-think the entire setup ... going to 4 10's and 4 amps is getting close to professional grade sounds. You're definately out of the 'common sounds' range. You might want to build an amp rack for all 4 amps with fans and the whole bit. You'll prolly want to upgrade your battery too if you haven't already and definately look into getting a cap. I think it is possible to build a box for the back for 4 10's but they would not all face upwards .. it would take some thought to get correct airspace but I'm sure you could get 4 of them back there. Are they all the same brand subs/amps?

good point that he brought up...unless they're the same i'd suggest against it. Mixing different subs together is almost always a bad idea
a capacitor.. if you have a hundred bucks burning a hole in your pocket with absolutely nothing better to spend it on, you should get one
otherwise, invest in something else.. like a better alternator

They are all kenwood subs .. the amps are different, a couple of ghetto amps, ( rockwood and a Legend..? ) the other 2 that are already installed are a kenwood and a Power Accoustics... I believe one is a 1000 watt amp, and the other possibly a 500 ( I didn't buy them, got them with the car) , the other amps are 250's I think.... anyway.. with these specs and 4 kenwood 10's... anyone got any ideas ? Gotta forgive me if some of this info is varying... but what I thought I had is different from what I was just told I had. Im an audiophile of sorts, just not when it comes to car audio....

what i meant to say, was that for normal listening, you dont need to worry about an exact constant voltage coming into your amp, and furthermore, 99% of the time a capacitor will not alleviate your light-dimming problem... capacitors do have their uses, but most people think that buying one will magically fix all their electrical problems, and it simply wont... for the cost of a capacitor, you could get your alternator rewound to produce more amperage, which will be better for you all over the board, and for most people that is a much better option.. didnt mean to step on anyones toes there, sorry

Im not really shooting for competition level, personally I prefer crystal clear sound to heart attack bass. Maybe a combination of the 2. Its nice enough with the current setup, just want to see if I can use the others before I sell em. ( assuming I decide to)
