I know I've done SOMETHING wrong.......
Hey guys, hope everybody's summer went well. I just got back from working in Alaska for 3 months (I must say, getting paid in American currency beats getting paid in Canadian coin any day!!) and I haven't even been here for three days before I've already messed up my brother's system somehow.....
Before I left, I installed a four channel amp, the fuses, the wiring, four 6.5" speakers, and their crossovers. All I had left to do in this phase was to install the tweeters. I even had the wiring ready and waiting. Up until this point, all four speakers were working.
I installed the two tweeters up front and the left side (tweeter and 6.5") works fine but now the right front tweeter and the right front 6.5" speaker don't make a sound. I know the wires from the crossover to the speaker and tweeter are not the problem. I did a quick visual check on the amp/crossover connection and it to appears to be okay.
It's late now so I'm going to stop and do some more intense troubleshooting in the morning. I'm a little bit rusty after 3 months of car audio inactivity, so if anyone has any pointers or theories, I'd really appreciate it.
Sorry about the long post, I tend to babble when I'm tired....... :P

A short question, but integral to your post: how did you wire the tweeters? From what I can read here, it looks like you have crossovers installed between the four channel amp and each 6.5 speaker. I assume the crossovers allow you to wire in a 6.5 and a tweeter each? Hopefully that's the case, and that is what you have so far.
The one problem I think you might run into, is the crossovers not doing their job, ending up with 2ohms for each speaker, and the amp not being stable at 2 ohms. Just a thought.
Good luck with it. Troubleshooting audio is life.

Well, the connections themselves seemed to be okay so I began systematically checking each piece of the circuit to isolate the problem. Unfortunately it was the priciest part of the chain. I tried switching the wires at the amp itself and discovered that one of the channels has mysteriously stopped working while the speakers, tweeters, and crossovers are all functioning properly.
My brother was going to get a new amp eventually, but he was hoping to use this one at least a little while longer. Oh well...
