Hey guys, i'm looking for some advice on a complete system for my 84 Z28. I'm really not the most knowledgable person in this area. What i'm going to need is 6x9's for the back, and 4x6's for the dash. I'm looking for two 12's. And i'm also gonna need an amp and a new headunit. I listen to rock mostly, don't know if that matters. I'd like to keep this under a grand. I really want something thats going to sound and hit really good. If you guys can gimmie some recomendations for all of the above i'd really appreciate it. I just want to have some idea so when i go around to the audio shops i will know what to look for. Thanks.

 

go to the local shop and get what YOU like! take some CDs and start listening! look at what's in your price range, then pick out what suites your ear! it's all up to you my good man i can't tell you what you like

 

If you're trying to stay under a grand, I would suggest running 1-12". That way you can get better quality without much loss in output.

$300 head unit
$150 sub
$250 amp
$250 mids/highs
$50 wiring (at least)

That's assuming you can install evrything and build a box yourself. For an upgradable system you might try this:

$300 HU
$150 sub (add another one later)
$200 amp (under power the sub for awhile, then use the amp to run the front speakers when you can afford a bigger amp and second sub)
$140 kick panels
$300 component set (add rear speakers later if you really want them)
