Sounds like a wire is bare and touching metal somewhere. Check it from the head unit back it could be pinched and the insulation has worn off somewhere. All your other speakers sound fine I assume?

yeah, the front 2 speakers work fine, its just the back 2 MB quarts

i just thought of something, its both of the back 2 speakers and they are ran through the wiring harness out of the head unit, so they dont share any wires, i did take them both out a few weeks ago and coated the piece of metal that it was screwed into with rubberized undercoating because the speakers were rattling up against that, man now i really have no idea what it is

Ok. I thought you ran aftermarket thicker wire to em. heres a quick simple way to diagnose it. Take out one or both of your 6x9s and sit in the front seat. get some 18 or 20 gauger speaker wire and run it right from the head units rear speaker wires (before they get to the harness). That will tell you if its wiring or a problem with the headunit/speakers. Either way I would run some 18 gauge wire to the back so you dont have to worry about it in the future and it will be a decent improvement from stock. Those stock wires are like floss. And just think about the piddly power the stock head unit put out that those wires were set up for...

ok, i'll try doing that tomorrow but what if the wires arent the problem? i replaced the whole audio system with thicker better wire about a year ago when i put in the amp, clairion 4 inchers up front and MB quart 6 by 9's in the back. i just had another idea, does it make sense that it could be the big wire runing from the back of the head unit to the amp? theres only 1 for the back so if thats messed up it would affect both speakers right? but it also goes into the amp and wouldnt the amp take care of that? anyway thanks alot for your help

I thought you said you took your rear 6x9s off the amp and put em on your head units power?
If they are running off the amp then ya it could easily be the RCA lines. If its running off your head unit and you do that test I suggested, it will either work or it wont. If it works then it most likely means its the wires somewhere between the head unit and speakers in the wiring harness (it would be odd if both wires didnt work though). If it doesnt work its your speakers or head unit.
If its still running off your amps power I would bet it is a pretty bad ground our its the RCA cable coming from the head unit like you mentioned.
