Please Help

i know this doesnt really have anything to do with car audio but how would i hook my sub up to my stereo in my room? all the stereo has in the back are 1 yellow and 1 white conectors

you'd probably wanna run it off an amp... without it, your not gonna hear a big bump.

however, i have no idea how to power it. i want to do the same thing when i get an appartment this summer, but i don't know how

I don't know if it's the same in the US as it is in the UK, but over here car audio is 4ohm impedance, and home audio is 8ohm. Wiring car stuff to a home system risks damaging the sub.

yeah its 4ohm car and 8ohm home...but yeah i knew that u could damage your sub so thats y i wanted to see if anyone knew here how to do it....
