wHAT ARE YOUR SUGGESTIONS??

mY FIREBIRD IS finaly going to be done in a month its a 68 im putting a 455 in it with 3 inch dual exhaust flowmaster 40 seris so i wont be able to hear crap. But im starting to get stuff for my stereo. So far i have 2 Alpine type R's DVC12 and a alpine head unit CDA 7894. What amp would u recomend i use for the subs? and Should i go with a bandpass box since it can fit in the trunk?

DO NOT PUT IN A BANDPASS!!

Bandpass boxes are very hard to make sound correct, you will most likely end up getting a one note wonder.

Depending if you want sound quality or boom, you should go with either a sealed box or a poted box.

The RMS rating on those subs in 300 watts, so a Class D (mono) amp that puts out around 600 watts would be the best. A good amp would be the JBL600.1, which actually puts out around 700 watts and can be had for about $175. Look around and you will be able to find other mono amps with that kind of power rating. Stick to brand names and away from items by Pyramid, Rockwood, Kenford, Volfenhag, or Crunch.

Is the JBL a 2 Channel or 1 Channel??? Ya i had a DHD amp in my camaro it did the job with the subs but then when i bought new subs of a name brand my stereo sounded liek crap so i got a kenwood 4 channel amp for the normal speakers and a kenwood 2 channel amp for my subs sounds great now. Does anyone know anything about directed amps? My friend is selling one he says its worth like 300 dollars used and is trying to sell it to me IT soudned good in his nova with audiobhan 12's.

Do what he says. It's a mono or one channel amp. Which is specificly for subs. I suggest a sealed box in your trunk. That is going to be my set up as soon as I get some $$$. nice car btw.
