Help! Radio stopped working
Help! Radio stopped working
I have a Pioneer DEH-46DH in a 90' RS that suddenly stopped working after 4 years. The deck won't power up at all and the fuses (inline and under the dash) are good. I removed the Pioneer deck and connected the factory (non-bose) radio and it won't power up either. Are there any other fuses that I should check? Any suggestions?

Try cutting the current ground wire and run a new one bypassing the harness. Also run a temporary acc wire to the fuse block to test and see if maybe thats not your problem also bypassing the harness.
I'm getting voltage to the constant and switch wires when I test them on the factory harness and also with the aftermarket wiring harness attached.
I connected the factory stereo after testing the voltages and it actually worked for a few minutes, but the power to it would cut out when I moved it around. I couldn't get the Pioneer to work at all, even though the voltages checked out. I re-connected the factory stero again and couldn't get it to work again regardless of how I adjusted the wires - although the wires still check out for voltage on the constant and switch.
Since there isn't a good way to check the voltages with either radio attached, would it still be worthwhile to try and bypass the ground or acc wires?
