I'm currently using pioneer 2 way 4x6 speakers in the dash, and I have not had any problems with them cracking, and currently they are running off the deck, so I know i can't blow them up.

As for that whole trunk is your box thing, you've got me confused. I have a sealed box that sits in the trunk depression and it pretty much fills it up, so you probably wont want to try storing anything there. Mine are slightly angled towards the front of the car, but it wont make much of a difference if any.

I'm running memphis 4x6s in the dash. There a nice speaker. It has a lifetime warranty so no worries if there is a defect or if they blow I can I just take them back in and get new ones. You will need mounting brackets if you go this way. I used my old Alpine brackets with them and they worked great.

I had one of those when I first got my car. It sucked. Get a sealed box It will sound a lot better.

I've heard the baffle board type can leak and rattle. I've also heard there pretty decent. I think it goes back to how well it was made and fits correctly. Just like a sealed box isn't gonna be worth a crap if you can't get the woofer to sit right to get a proper seat around the cone to box.
