How to install 6x9's when I dont have factory ones?

My car came with the Bose system, therefore there is nothing at all in the stock 6x9 location. I believe that the cars that had them from the factory had some kind of mounting bracket, is that right?

There is the cutout in the panel there for them but I dont know if I can mount the speaker right to that, or do I need other hardware?

What do I do?

Thanks!

Yeah, there should be a mounting plate that the 6x9's. The plate then mounts in the hole. You could go to a yard and pick up one. Might also be a good idea to pick up the pocket insulation too. (It's pretty much a removeable black material that keeps the plate from rattling against the sides.

The brackets are pretty thin it would hard to make them out of MDF... for the baffles you might beable to do something with that but I doubt it. It's hard to pull out OEM ones cause of the close fit.

I borrow'd this off the Fbody CD. If you guys haven't got one yet I strongly recommend you get one. Sure you might think it's a bunch but one or two purchases from gmpartsdirect.com instead of a dealer the cd pays for itself. I got a TV cable from 28 bucks shipped and dealer wanted around 40 bucks before shipping or taxes!

(Kind of small but you can clearly make out the plate and baffling stuff.)
