How should I go about doing this?

I am making an amp rack similar to this one...

And instead of having that WS7 emblem there, I want to do a Firebird emblem and the words 'Trans Am'...then streched vinyl over top. Kind of like this...

What can I use for the lettering/emblem to go underneath the vinyl? I can't think of what I could use. I want it to stick up maybe 1/8"-3/16".

All help is appreciated.

Josh

Use foam. That is what most shops would use. You can find it at any fabric store.

Also, as you would say.................more related to car audio. Moving........................
