Elemental Desings e10Kx.44 Dual 4 ohm Subwoofer and amp...
I have pretty much decided on the Elemental Desings e10Kx.44 Dual 4 ohm Subwoofer...I have heard good reviews from several other boards, but want to hear what ya'll have to say...so if anyone owns this sub, let me know your setup and how you like it...
Now i need to find an amp for it...I mentioned in another post about a JBL 300.1 amp...but since then have found a good deal on a Rockford Fosgate Punch 401s here are the specs:
100 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
200 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms
400 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms in bridged mode
stereo or bridged mono output
4-ohm stable in bridged mode
Tri-Way capable
requires 8-gauge power and ground leads — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
50-250 Hz high-pass/low-pass (12 dB/octave) crossovers
wired remote included for fingertip control of Punch Bass (0-18 dB boost at 45 Hz)
MOSFET power supply and output devices
MEHSA mounting technology increases the heat transfer from the MOSFET output devices to the heat sink, for higher power output, lower operating temperatures, and greater reliability
TOPAZ — noise-killing differential inputs that eliminate 80% of ground loop noise
Trans•ana circuitry keeps preamp voltages low and signal paths simple for outstanding audio quality
NOMAD — advanced protection circuitry for "intelligent" shutdown protection
speaker- and preamp-level inputs
11-1/8"W x 2-3/8"H x 9
I know it is a 2 channel amp but it can be bridged to do 400x1 at 4ohms and thats perfect for the elemental designs sub...I found the amp for about $120 plus shipping...Please post your opinions of this setup and anybody who has used this amp (specifically bridged) please let me know quality, sound, output and your thoughts on it...If anyone has any other amp ideas for about the same price please post them...Thanks...

that RF amp puts out 400 watts bridged at 4ohms, if you get a 4 ohm dvc woofer you can only wire it at 2 ohms or 8 ohms so that amp wont work.
http://www.thezeb.com i would go for a us acoustics usx2100. ive owned one before and its an excellent excellent amp. only rated down to 4 ohm mono but i had it at 2 ohm mono for over 2 years and it never over heated. That amp will put out almost 500rms @2ohm mono for $100 you cant go wrong.

this should help with pick the ohms and how to wire them.
