ive asked this before also and no one came forward.....i am planing on doing mine and patching in the holes gm had in them. I have some mat and resin left over from my sub box soo when the wheather gets nicer and its time to put in my 6x9s i got here in my room for my z ill prob do them.
oh and no it wont stop rattles it may create more if you dont put foam tape around the plates and stuff when mating it to the metal plate and body..remeber fiberglass is a solid object not like just the stock foam baffle because it is kindof like a gasket. Maybe its a plan to get rid of the stock metal plate and replace it with aleast 1/2 " mdf one.

Actually, I am also planning on some mods for the 6x9 area. Same thing.. replacing the plate with some MDF.
I know of some sound dampening sprays that are used in Subwoofer boxes. I was thinking of getting something like that and spraying the enslosure where the 6x9 resides to help tone down vibrations.
Its kind of a grey spray..

yah i already sprayed mine with a rattle can of rubberized undercoating...most ppl use this in sub boxes...i sprayed the outsides of the baffles and all the body metal and the metal plate. This will also cut down on the rattle sounds(purely cause theres no metal to metal contact)
