Postin Numbers
Hey, just wantin to see who has the loudest system...don't just tell me it "pounds" or "hits", give me a dB number and tell me what ya got. I personally have 2 eclipse Aluminum Cone 12" subs, a pre-fabed box, a Planet Audio TT1250D, a Clarion 400x4 for highs, boston 6x9's, boston 4x6's, and a set of 13 yr. old alpine tweets runnin off the Clarion. I have 0-ga to the back of the car and it breaks off into 4 and 8 ga. for the TT1250D and the clarion respectively. I have a Kole 2.5 Farad cap and a Alpine CDA-9815 CD Player runnin it all. All this makes for 151.6 dB. I don't think thats to bad, anyone have better?

Not bad, right now im working on my system, I want something smooth looking. Not the typical 3rd gen system with a box made in the well that sits flush with the gas tank with the amps mounted ontop of the tank.
soo right now i have just finished a fiberglass box for the lower section of the well with my two amps (one 300 rms for the mids and highs and one 600 for the sub) inclosed . Im making a plexiglass cover for the top with some leds thrown in their also.
Head unit is an older model Kenwood excellon (sp?) kdc (or somecrap like that) x711. still looks and works like new.
plaining on viper comps in the sails ,dont know about up front yet and a single shiva for the back. BUTTT for right now im stuck with a set of 6x9's a 10 and two amps.

Just remember guys... SPL numbers are as useless as wattage ratings unless the microphone was in the same spot in every car, and that the mic was calibrated properly.

You make a good point jim...mine was metered at the lower pass. side kick...the meter was calabrated correctly im sure.
Thank *** for the 2 second pauses between songs or else I'd be PERMINATLY deaf already!
you do know 135dB and up damages your hearing PERMINATLY after around 7.5 mins

Since there is no way to verify db numbers, I'm going to close this post. I don't want people making up insanely high numbers and turning into a flame war.
