new to systems need help
tried to put an amp in my car with 2 tens. the amp is a 1200Wx2 and the tens are really nice, dont remember the brand name, any way I got an amp instalation kit, hooked everything up and the speakers dont work right. They moved like they should thump, but dont thump. Like thunder without sound. Know what I mean, and The wierd thing is I have the performance sound feature and the factory subs are the same way. I have a 97 pioneer Super tuner 3 with RCa out puts that I used for this install. I had heard that the remote wire doesnt have enough power in these cars after an aftermarket radio has been installed, so I hooked the remote wire up to a constant 12V in the fuse panel and the problem was still the same. Man I'm such a NOOB! please help

Check the phasing of the subs first. This means you need to check the + - on the speakers and amp. + on amp to + on the speaker, - on the amp to - on the speaker. Both speakers need to be the same.
What kind of box are they in?
I don't know who told you the remote wire didn't have enough power in this cars but that couldn't be more wrong. First the remote comes from the HU, NOT the car. You don't what to pull a lot of power for this line but the amp will pull most of it's power from the fat wire. The amp just uses the 12V on the remote line to tell the amp to turn on, that's it. As long as your not trying to turn on 3 amps and a flash light you'll be good.

Yep, sounds like the subs are out of phase. Check what NEEDAZ had suggested.
Also, not sure if you were temporarily connecting the remote to the constant 12v source or making it permanent, but the amp will continue to stay on as long the remote wire has 12v going through it, even with the car and radio off.

Yeah I realized the battery part, I just hooked it up temp like to see if it would work. I only had one speaker hooked up, just trying to see if it was all gonna work. I think I did have the wires crossed cause it wanted to "thump" the wrong way, so I switched the wire but still no sound came out, thump motion with no thump. And also no box yet, just wanted them to work first. Any ideas?

So the subs weren't in a box? That is the problem then if that's the case. You won't get any sound because the rear and front waves are cancelling each other out..
