Steering wheel control for deck

Alright, this isn't for my camaro, but for my old *** corolla. In my 79 corolla I have never tried the door locks, and the windows have only been rolled up twice. So when I bought a cd player I stuck it in the glove compartment and mounted it real well, putting the old tuner back in place but unconnected.

Now I love the glove compartment thing, looks cool in there but it can be a pain to change volume/turn on and off at times, ect. It is an old pioneer deh24f...don't bother looking it up, not even pioneer has info for it on the site, we'll just say it's old.

How hard would it be to wire some controls either from the steering wheel, or from the factory recievers spot that run to the cd player. I'm guessing this would involve taking apart the cd player a little bit, but I am curious how complex it would be.

The cd player has a non-detachable flip down face, I'm guessing that if this was done pretty well, it could be done without this face. I haven't looked yet but I'd assume each button has a lil brass connector thing that touches on the face to the main unit. Would it be something as easy as wiring buttons up to where these connect on the actual unit, or much more complex than this?

Any info from anyone who has taken apart a busted cd player or the face part of one would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks- Chris
