Ok, I'm sure that this will be a stupid question. I plan on removing my door panels to fix some rattles that I have and figured that this would be a good time to put some dynamat in there. I'm just trying to figure out where do I put it? Once I remove the door panel, do I put the dynamat on the metal door frame that is right behind the door panel itself, or do I have to remove all of the door components ie. lock mechanism, control rods, etc., and apply the dynamat to the door skin(I think that is what it is called) is at? I have the rest of the car done except for this, but just wanted to know where I will be applying this at. Thanks for your time, Paul Moore

well the easiest way is the skeleton. The best way is both. And the most common way is the skeleton. So i guess you should go with the skeleton. It will do the job.

Mount it wherever its easiest for you. You do not need to mount it closest to the exterior shell as possible. The key is to cover all the holes and odd gaps, sort of form a shield. It dosnt really matter where on the interior parts you mount it, as long as its all uniform.

When I did my doors, I rolled the windows down, removed the door panel, rolled the windows back up, and put the dynomat on the door skin (which is the outside-most part of the door, the piece that everyone sees from the outside).

Make sure you clean the area really good, too, before you ever bring a piece of Dynomat near it.

And while you're in there, smear some grease on all your window slides and your window gear. It'll speed up the windows a bit and keep your window motor (or your arm, if you have crank windows) happy.
