Which EQ to get?

I finally decided to upgrade my stereo. It's going to be MP3 player>EQ>amp. I'm looking for an EQ that has a master volume **** or slider, preferably 7 or more bands. I just need Left and Right RCA I/Os. Any reccomendations on what to get or what to stay away from?

Why do you need a separate EQ? Most companies that sell head units offer a few units that have a built-in eq that will be as good or better than any stand alone 5 or 7 band unit. Unless you're going to move up to some sort of 1/3 octave EQ, a head unit EQ is going to suit you just fine.

Yes, but I'm looking for ones that have some form of reputation for being good/not noisy.

Also, my deck doesn't have an EQ or I'd use it. Its made to run into a deck, but I replaced my deck with an amp, so now I have no volume or EQ controls.

Are you serious? All an amp doesn is make the volume louder, there shouldn't be a difference between those either, right?

Sounds like you need a new headunit.
