Audio Ports

hey guys im kinda new to the audio forum, i've used the other forums for a while but i just dont really know to much about audio stuff. So i have a question, what size do you all usually make your ports if your makeing a custom set up? thanks guys

it depends on how big the box, how much port area and how low you need to tune to.

it also depends on the car, amps and subs you are using. Usually after you build a box and determine cubic feet in the box, you can call the sub manufacturer and they will tell you how many square inches of the port, proper tuning frequency, and and port depth to achieve the right frequency.
