Looking for Video-player

I have been thinking of putting in a video dvd/cd player in my '92 that is currently all stock radio and speakers. Any recomendations for this plus a decent amp and subs. I will also replace the factory sail and dash speakers. Will to listen to your suggestions. I want to spend probably around $1200.00.

is that $1200 for subs (how many btw), amp (1 for subs, or 2 for subs+speakers), and a HU (and you want a T.V. screen right?is that a screen w/ dvd and screen all together, or just a screen)? Also what kind of sound do you want out of your subs?all out spl or all sq, or a mix of both?how much room do you want to retain?answer these and i'll go to work for ya.....nice car in the avatar btw.

I can go up to $1500.00 if I need to. That is for the whole system.

I want TWO 12" subs. I want the sub box to fill the well in the back of the hatch. That is what I have in my '86 and the amp is under the sub box on the bottom of the well. Not quite sure what you mean by sq or spl. I want to have seperate sound from the subs and the 6 x 9's in the sails. In my '86 I can turn the subs off from thehead unit if I want to, like if I have elderly people in the back or just don't want to hear the subs. I want a video screen that comes out the head unit plus CD player/mp3 player.

I want the amp for the subs only unless it is possible within that cost. I found that with my '86 with the amp for the subs worked real good incase of overload and blow fuses. And it seemed the head unit had enough power to the other speakers to sound good without the amp. If anything needs extra amplification it is the front speakers. they never seem enough in anyones car. Maybe a small one there.

I hope this helps but I will continue to answer questions if you have more of them. Check my system in the '86 in my signature. I like CLARITY over loudness. I am almost 50 so real distorted loud rattle does not sound good. Oh speaking of clarity I need a good eq in the head unit too.

I know, this guy wants a lot for $1,500.

are you absolutely set on 2 12's?there's about 3 cubes for a box in the back well, and sometimes 1 really good sub can sound better and get louder than 2 lesser subs for cheaper.

Hey Man,

thanks a million for the excellent research. I now have a great base to start. I will let you know how it works out.

P.S. I meant ONE sub box with TWO 12's in it.
