Hows this system look?
Wasnt really into car audio, but I bought a bunch of my buddies old stuff and put it in my work car and love it, so Ive got to do something with the good car. Anyways, what do you guys think of this stuff, or can you make any recomendations for similarly priced/equiped stuff.

Caution, really stupid question approaching: What are those green things, and what do they do?
Sub Amp:
Alpine MRD-M605

Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1d

These are the dual voice coil ones, the single voice coils are the same price, what advantages are there between the two?
Obviously there will be other good stuff, kicks, custom box for the well (1/2 or 3/4???), quality wiring, ho alternator, a red top, and the big 3 done
Obviously I like Infinity and Alpine. I have Infinity 4x6s and 6x9s in my work car, and an Alpine amp, they all put up with atleast 30 hours of abuse a week (I drive alot)
Damn, I havent spent this much time typing something since papers in high school

A DVC sub allows for a lot more wiring options in terms of the load you put on your amp. DVC subs are nice if you're planning on upgrading an amp and want to run a higher ohm setup temporarily. If you're set on keeping everything for a while there's no real advantage to them unless you can't wire to the load you want with SVC subs. This wont matter with some new higher end amps that will deliver the same amount of power regardless of impendence.
As for the alpine amps, you can get a lot more amp for your money from kicker/rockford/jbl. If you're willing to buy off e-bay or ike sound, I suggest you look around a little bit more. That's just me though
Those are crossovers. They determine what frequencies go to the woofer and what frequencies go to the tweeter.
If you buy you everything listed, you will have a pretty nice system though.

thanks for the reply. i have no intention of buying from crutchfield, ebay if i can find a seller that will combine shipping costs for multiple items (i havent looked yet) or ike sound are def the best bets
thats a really good system u got there...should sound real good.
1. use 3/4 mdf for ur box
2. rockford, kicker and jbl aren't known for great power/price ratio's (They are however underrated strong amps, just not priced very well)
how much is he selling it for, so we can tell you what type of deal u got there???

Pioneer 6400
Infinity Reference 4x6s
Infinity Kappa 6x9s
thats all out of the bird
i paid 75 for 2 audiobahn 10s in a q logic box, 25 for an alpine 3555 for the subs, and 50 for a kenwood kca-746. sounds pretty damn good for what ive got into it
