covers
the speaker covers in the back rattle when i have my music turned up...and it takes away from the...MUSIC lol...
so the question is will new speaker covers fix the problem or is it something else other than just the speaker covers being loose...i can' reach back and press hard on the covers and the rattling stops...anyone got any covers lying around? it's for a '91 convertible if it makes a difference

you mean the sail panels are vibrating?
if so, I bet it's actually the metal behind the speaker...
I've given up on fixing this problem in my car. You basically need to tear apart the entire rear of the car, sound-deaden, or at least tighten up(stuff stuff between metal-metal, and plastic-plastic contacts,) panels. It's a shame, because there are quite a few 6x9s that have great bass... we just can't experience it in our cars...

Are you talking about the speaker covers that came w/ the 6 X 9's? If so, take them off and leave them off.

Deaden the metal around the 6x9s with Dynamat or your choice of similar brand sound deadening.
As for the cosmetic cover, I've never seen or heard of one of those vibrating, but if it is, just glue a little fabric or foam to the backside at the spot that's causing the vibration.
