82 original radio
Hi, how did the original radio looked like in a 82 Z28.
Is it the same as in a 86 Camaro or when was it changed?

It depends on what radio you got. If you got the digital AM/FM radio, or the AM/FM cassette, then it should be the same as the 86 model. However, the standard AM radio was only available through 1985. There was also a premium model available with a 5 band equalizer. I don't know what the first year of availability was for that model (I believe it was 1986), but I'm fairly sure it wasn't available in 82.
You may want to ask this question on the History board if you don't get enough feedback here.

Was it the AM/FM radio that was in most cars or just the AM?
Thanks for the help

I believe that the overwhelming majority had the AM/FM or the AM/FM/Cassette. Very few had the misfortune of coming with the AM **** radio like mine did.

That was interesting pictures, now I know how they look.
I had hoped that there was only one type of radio because it had made my life a lot easier. You see, I don't have the build sheet so I have no clue which one my 82 had from the begining.
Thanks for all the help.

Does your 82 still have the original wiring harness, or at least the original wiring? That will help you figure out at least if it came with the AM radio or if it came with the AM/FM or Cassette radio.
The cars that came with just the AM radio did not have a +12 Volt battery wire... just the switched ignition for power. The cars with the digital AM/FM or AM/FM/Cassette had the standard 21-pin wiring configuration that featured a separate +12 volt battery line.

I will check that out, thanks for the tip.
