i just picked up a free 01 Monsoon HU

CD player from a 01 Z28 monsoon system.. i have the theft lock code already.. but as far as wiring goes.. are the color's the same for all years?

It should be plug and play. But you will have to modify your console for it to fit correctly.

you dont need one... if your factory wiring is still there then the wiring is just plug and play... assuming your putting it in your 92!? Just a heads up - 89's and up have the same GM 21 Pin Wiring....

If you really need one the Metra p/n is 71-1858. Should plug right in though. If it doesn't check the plug in and see if its 3 separate plugs combined to one (white, blue, and black) or just one big one with a spot for a single clip. If it is that one you will need 2 harnesses. 70-1858 and 71-2001 from metra or equivalent.

There's nothing special about the monsoon headunit...

it's a standard delco unit with a different plastic faceplate..

monsoon has to do with the speakers and amp...
