? for the GURUS/BOX SPECS from ALPINE

I just bought an ALPINE SWR-1242D (12" dual 4 ohm VC's) the "optimum vented box" specs are confusing me. Here are the specs:
External box dementions - 18"x13.5"x16.5"
Vent area - 15"sq(12"x1.25")
VENT LENGTH - 22.75"????????

How can the vent length be 22.75" and the largest side of the box be only 18"?
Kind of confusing to me anyway.
Help

Try as I might I can't find specs for that sub online to check what you posted. I would look again. That box sounds too small to be ported anyway at 2.3 cubes not including the port, sub displacement, and assuming 0 wall thickness which isn't possible.

The dimensions are for a slot ported box. The port will have to be L-shaped.

The recommended box does not sound too small.

Gummie, you need to try harder. The manual can be dowloaded here.

The recommended box size range is 1.25 to 2.0 cubic feet.
