Need comparison! Image Dynamics D4 10" vs. Rockford Fosgate Punch 10"

Hi

It is a 50/50 for me now. It is between a 10 inch Rockford fosgate Punch sub and an Image dynamics D4 10" sub.

Whick of the two is superior? The Image dynamics is twice the price so i am wondering if it is worth it?

What subs are you talking about? ID max, IDQ, ID, punch (stage 1, 2 or 3)? By your prices I'm guessing stage 1 and ID. I would stay away from a punch stage 1 because they're not exactly the greatest sub out there. Image Dynamics makes good subs but I haven't heard much about their base line. I’m willing to assume that they’re a better sub than the punch stage 1.

Usually, you get what you payfor...So usually (but not always) the one which is more expensive....is more expensive for a reason. I always go with the best I can afford, the better quality stuff always seems to be better...and last longer. Im not 100% but isnt Image Dynamics the same people who actually make the audiobahn immortal....audiobahn just adds all the pretty stuff...maybe its Digital Dynamics...hmmm but yea....go for the Image Dynamics

This is generally true to a point but in some cases you're just buying the name (dynamat comes to mind). Higher priced companies tend to make good products (JL, etc) but there's generally a cheaper solution that will sound equally as good.

As for Image Dynamics, they do some OEM manufacturing (used to do ED, no idea who else). I don't think they would be involved with a company like audiobahn but it's possible.
