Ports - flared or straight ?

My box (which I hope to start building as soon as I figure this port deal out) calls for one 9 inch long 3 inch diameter port, 28.0 Hz, well anyway I want to go more like 32-33 Hz and seems two 2 inch diameter 8 inch long ports will do the job.

However couple of questions here:

Do the 8 inch long ports with 2 inch diameter need to be flared ?

Any advantage at all to using bigger (i.e. bigger diameter) ports ?

I'd like to keep the length of the ports as low as possible, since I don't want to have the box being too tall.
