technical help

hey guys ,
I am asking here because I can't find the info I am looking for after several days searching the net.

I am looking for someone thats knows about the remote control signals ( and possibly CanBus) of various aftermarket decks and changers. Looking at a possible mix and match and/or steering wheel mounted controls. anyone have any info, links or just feel like talking ?

In particular I have an older Blaupunkt ( Alaska ) deck/controller, but I am looking to put a MD changer behind it..... or at the very least use the remote input plug on the back of the thing to get some steering wheel controls hooked up.

Thanks

Dan

Good luck, they don't even put that detailed info in the service manuals. Unless you find someone that revers engineered it, or find and Blaupunkt engineer, you're going to have to work hard. You have a steering wheel with the buttons? Best bet for that would be... I think it is called the SWX-1 made by PAC. You need a HU that uses and IR remote and you need the remote to program it.

there is a guy working on similar stuff on mp3car.com... he is nearly complete with an interface that goes from the Pioneer IP-Bus to USB... allows full 2-way control and display to a PC/Laptop... so you could emulate a cd-changer or whatever, and be surfing through your entire 500GB mp3 collection

he has already completed the Alpine adapter, with pics and video to prove it...

he's slowly finishing up the IP-BUS... but it's taking forever...
