Subs cutting out?
im not very experienced with audio systems. but my iroc had one in it when i bought it and now i kinda like it. the problem im having is that if i have it booming for too long my subs will cut out. let it sit for a few minutes and it fires right up again. is my amp getting to hot and shutting off? is there something wrong with my subs? i dont even really have it turned up anywhere near the maximum limit, just enough to make the subs hit a little bit. whats going on here?

Re: Subs cutting out?
Its a possibility that the amp is sucking too much power when the subs are hitting and it takes the amp some time to turn back on... ive heard of people having this problem... never experienced it myself though.

Cautiously touch your amp when it shuts down...
Most likely, it's very hot and is shutting down to protect itself...
Get some fans to cool it or don't play it as loud / as hard.

Re: Subs cutting out?
Its your amp bro. yeah its the classic sign that your sending that bitch into protection. I'd bet your amp is either
1) wayyy to tiny for your subs,
2) You've got your wiring wrong and are pulling the incorrect Ohm Load
3) you're gain is set much to high
4) its a crappy brand amp
5) your amp wiring is not the appropriate gauge wire
....When your amp goes into protection, it can take several mins for it to recover and work again. It should have an LED bulb on it somewhere, thats usually green, and when it goes into protection, it will change color to Red or something similar. But list your setup so we can help you out better.
