4th Gen trim swap (audio related)
Hey guys,
I have an 87 trans am and I've been looking as to how to improve the sound system while making it look as stock as possible. I don't want to get a sub box because A i have t tops and B i frankly don't need that much bass. I've been looking into swapping the sail panel trim and rear cargo trim from a fourth gen trans am that had the 10 speaker system as a cheaper alternative then messing with everything myself. Does anyone know if the cargo and sail panel trims will neatly swap into my 87?
Thanks guys

I've never been in a thirdgen TA, but judging by a thirdgen Camaro and 4th gen TA, its not going to be neat, or easy.
There's pleny of room in the trim in Camaro's at least, how about dropping speakers in the trim of the hatch area and using discreet speaker grills?

get a stealth sub box. it fits behind the plastic paneling in the rear so its invisible. I think it can only be a 8 or a 10" but those should be plenty if you don't want to go all out.

U CAN ORDER A 10IN STEALTH BOX THAT FITS ON UR DRIVERS SIDE REAR PANEL. THEY GO FOR ABOUT A 100.00, I THINK I MAY BE ABLE TO GET THEM FOR LESS. PUT A KICKER OR JL 10 IN IT AND ADD A NICE 200WATT AMP. BUT FOR HIGHS U WILL HAVE TO BYPASS THE FACTORY AMP IF UR CAR INFACT HAD THE BOSE SYSTEM IN IT. THE REASON BEING IS BECAUSE IT MAKES THE REAR SPEAKERS HAVE ALL BASS AND MIDS AND THE FRONT JUST HIGHS. IF U HAVE ANY QUESTIONS SEND A PM! Thread
