Eclipse cd5444 cd won't play!Please help!!!
Hey here is the story,
I installed a new eclipse cd5444 in my car, everything is working 100% find except for the cd player. When I store in a cd, it seems to read it because the song's lenght starts to go on after the loading process. But there is NO sound coming out at all!!! This is not my first audio install so don't worry, I know what I am doing. I re-verified all my wiring twice and everything is hooked up in good order.
This is not my first eclipse deck, I own a 8454 in my suburban and I have had no problems since! Does anyone had the same problem with the same receiver or any other receiver?
Any help would be much appreciated

Are all your speakers hooked to amps?
If so, make sure you remote wire is hooked to the remote lead of the deck, and not the power ant. lead.
Some decks, turn off the power ant lead when a CD is put in. So if you're hooked to that, it will turn off the amps.

Thanks,
I will double check this remote wire to make sure. All my speakers are hooked to amplifiers...
By the way, keep your hard work on your ride! I think it will end up looking like mine but with a top

I would say play it and see if your amps are turning on. If they're not, I'm thinking there might be a setting or something in the cd player that you need to turn on/adjust so that it sends the signal to the amp instead of off the deck. If it's not that, make sure you have your remote hooked up to the right wire on the head unit. I don't really know what else to tell you. Good luck on the fix, I know I can't stand it when you hook everything up and it doesn't work.
Edit: When you say everything is working except the cd player, does that mean that you get sound when you play fm? In that case I agree with cdoyle.

Well Cdoyle,
You were right! Thanks a lot for helping me fixing this damn problem. I did hooked the blue remote wire to the blue Antenna power supply instead of the blue/white control power supply.
From what I remember, I always hooked this wire to a blue wire from the receiver's harness. I don't look into the owner's manual except for sound adjustment.
Thanks again and keep us on touch with your project. Will it be ready before the winter?
