Q-Customs Factory-fit Dual 10" Subwoofer Enclosures: any opinions

I was just looking at the crutchfield site for some stuff for my 91 rs, and Q-Customs popped up, anyone used one of these boxes before I'm just curious about the quality of sound and construction.

also, I recently found a Devon head unit it's a 97 unit, is it worth a crap at all?

Re: Q-Customs Factory-fit Dual 10" Subwoofer Enclosures: any opinions

no one has answered and i'm bored enough so here goes...

the q form setup has been out for a long time. i remember back in 99 when i bought my first 91 that i wanted to order one. i was told then they are overpriced and over rated but i was younger and didn't care. after 3 months of waiting for back order i finally canceled my order.

if your looking into crutchfield chances are your not into any major aspects of car audio.. just want something that sounds decent right? do some searching, if you must have a q form box try to find one used or at least buy it somewhere else. crutchfield is not always but typically overpriced on their items. they do however offer great customer service so it also depends on what access as well as knowledge you have with it all.

as for your head unit question.... what are you comparing it too? unless you are very brand familiar, get a smoking deal or something else very similar you should really test out the item your going to buy before hand and then you'll know. if you are wanting to just impress others then i'd say no it isn't worth anything as i've never seen a devon headunit in a car that i thought to myself and wondered.. "man i wish i had that".

good luck.

i have seen these on ebay. you can get dual 10's or 12's and they run $230 about shipped. best price i found. i wanted one but then i thought price wise and space wise... just toooo much money cause then comes decent speakers and an amp and wires. i think i am giong to try basslink t from infinity. i am sure that you can get a good box that looks great alot cheaper though than i q-custom though. but then like i always say it is about what you want. just find the right price... not crutchfield.

q forms boxes are ok, they are prefab so the size isn't ideal for any sub, but they do the job. Check with a local stereo shop I bet they can build you a box that is ideal for a couple hundred bucks
