Question about pushbutton radio
I have two of the infamous GTA pushbutton radios that came out of cars w/ steering wheel controls. Sadly, both radios are locked, and it seems GM felt that the only way to unlock them was with the mute button on the wheel controls. Since my car doesn't have them and I don't want them, is there any way to unlock it without the controls? I hear of people bypassing the VATS system with a resistor, is there any way to possibly find the part of the radio that controls the lock function, and put in a resistor or something that unlocks it and prevents it from locking up again? It would be awesome if someone had some input on this for me. I appreciate it, thanks!

Re: Question about pushbutton radio
I found this thread last night looking around for a button pad to replace the intermittent one on my GTA. I went back and found it for you when I saw your post; this will give you an idea on how it probably works.

I don't know of anyone who has tried this yet. When I get a replacement pad, I will do some testing while I have it apart, to see if I can come up with something.....I am curious myself. If we knew the range of the resistance, you could probably wire up an old radio volume **** or something on that order that would unlock the radio when you "tuned" it to the necessary ohms.
