to be on top or not to be......

i am going to be installing 12 inch vysonix sub in my camaro. would it hit better with the magnet on top sticking out rather then the speaker showing? im not a audio expert so id like to know. thanks all

reverse mount is basically just for apperence but it will sound better if the magnet is mounted inside the box

It really shouldn't make a difference. The way I understand it, mounting the magnet outside the enclosure allows for a slightly smaller box because the speaker doesn't take up any of the air space. Most boxes are built to compensate for driver (speaker) displacement with the magnet inside. If you decide to go with the external magnet, the speaker leads should be reversed - pos to neg, and neg to pos.

i like it with magnet up. maybe ill run it that way, so it shouldnt sound different?
