Failure
So I put an amp on my sony head unit and it all works great. But now when I turn it on every time it says "Failure" until I press a button then It goes away. I have all my speakers amped so there are none connected directly to the head unit, but I left the speaker wire connected to the head unit, just not connected to the speakers. So, could this be what is making the head unit freak out?

Re: Failure
My Sony head unit did the same thing. I went to the Sony websight and downloaded the instructions. It was a few years ago so I don't remember what to do.

Re: Failure
More then likely. From page 16 of the manual (available for DL on there web page) "The connection of speaker/amplifiers is incorrect." Like so many things, it looses something in translation. BTW, that's a good way to kill the HU.
