Breaking Benjamin

Sevendust
Deftones
Five Finger Death Punch
Flaw
Hurt
Staind
and a few others, but its a start. Big fan of having an mp3 player; I'd hate to be switching discs around in the car

Re: What kinda music are you listening to?
Funny how these threads pop up from time to time, but here's my list.
Usually I will be playing a lot of country and rock of all kinds. Sometimes if the right mood hits me right I will put in some Rap or hip-hop from the early to mid '90s, techno, older funk, or even some bass music (yeah, remember those?).
Some country favorites: Hank Williams Jr., George Straitt, George Jones, Jerry Reed, Waylan Jennings, Alan Jackson, etc.
Rock: Metallica (of course), AcDc, Mudvayne, Korn, Pantera, Seether, Led Zepplin, ZZ Top, Sammy Haggar, Misfits, NoFx, Pennywise, Alkaline Trio, Rancid.
My Ipod list goes on for miles, but these are just a few off the top of my head.

Re: What kinda music are you listening to?
I mainly listen to classic rock; Pink Floyd, Def Leopard, Van Halen, Alice Cooper, and Ozzy.
There's not much newer music I listen. I rarely listen to the radio. These are some of the newer bands I do listen to.
Lordi (sounds like 80s metal)
Edguy (power metal)
Gothminister (industrial metal)
The Birthday Massacre (goth rock or darkwave)

Hey this is a really entertaining thread to read through. Thanks for posting this! I gotta stay true to the era of the car with my tunes. My top rotations would have to be:
Guns n roses- appetite for destruction
Metallica- and justice for all
Van Halen- 1984
Led Zeppelin- all of em
and various Danzig/Misfits albums
All cassettes of course!

Re: What kinda music are you listening to?
I can't get enough of Megadeth! I also love to crank up Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Ozzy, Yngwie Malmsteen some Metallica (their older stuff- Kill Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, Justice for All, the black album) and 80's hair metal like Dokken, Van Halen the list goes on & on...
I also turn up 80's music like Loverboy, Miami Sound Machine, Pat Benetar, Laura Brannigan for my wife (I also like that too..) this stuff sounds great with the JBL sub box in the rear hatch. I also love ZZ Top, Lynerd Skynerd, & all that southern rock. Sorry guys, no hip hop here... maybe the odd time Tone Loc, C & C Music Factory, Snap, Technotronic, or KLF... as you can tell I love my rock and metal... OK for all you younger guys out there, OLD SCHOOL ... yeesh, I said it... LOL but I think nothing suits these tunes better for my 86 TA a.k.a. my time machine.
Cheers to all you guys out there!

Re: What kinda music are you listening to?
I have a pretty WIDE taste in music. I'm mostly a metalhead (been a thrash drummer for YEARS) but lately I've been listening to alot of old 90's country (Mark Wills, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill...etc I hate new country these days too poppy) but I've been straying back to the world of the METAL!!! lol
Metallica (All Metallica, new and old. I'm a TRUE fan)
Megadeth (number 2, no matter how hard Dave Mustaine tries to be Metallica)
Pantera (May Dime rest in peace)
Anthrax (madhouse is the ****)
And many more

Ah, today. Donna Summer's Live and More (Don't guffaw until you've heard her version of MacArthur Park live--smokin'!), Merle Haggard's Best of (try Hungry Eyes which will tear your heart out!), The Flying Burrito Brothers (Wild Horses and I Shall Be Released are way cool!), Kills (There's a bonus cut called "Gum" which is odd and somehow strangely sexual that's worth a listen). The Divinyls were also sweet (I Touch Myself is great but I prefer Pleasure and Pain). Head East rocked me.
Later some Roger Daltrey (Ride a Rock Horse) and Grover Washington, Jr (Live at the Bijou).
And I recently bought the Beatles stereo box--Yes, I watched them on Ed Sullivan in '64! And listened to them on the AM radio in my '54 Chevy two-door sedan: 57 Plymouth canary yellow, Renault bucket seats, Hurst on the floor, lowered in the front, dual Rochester carbs on the straight six and a dual exhaust with glass packs. Yeah, baby!
Note: The Daltrey album (yes, I still call them albums) was pedestrian, but his version of Rufus Thomas's Walking the Dog brought a smile to my face.

Re: What kinda music are you listening to?
Hey robert frank, I agree that today's country sounds too much like pop. Nashville has lost touch with it's roots too much, I love "old"country like Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr, Red Sovine, Willis Brothers, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and the rest of the artists from such a great time period (50's -90's). I guess you could say I like Megadeth better because Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman made such a great pair of thrashers and speed pickers. I mean, James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett put some great tracks down over the years, but Dave and Marty just seemed to have so much energy and great technical abilities that you can't ignore! Rust In Peace (1990) has some amazing songs on it, and the other album releases were great... but I am not here to preach guitar tech to you, man... I guess every man has his own tastes and I'm not putting yours down in any way. I too, over the years, have played drums, guitar & bass.
Pantera's "Walk" is a heavy tune to crank up in the car, yes, may Dime rest in peace... and Anthrax is just freakkin' awesome! I just love "Madhouse", "Anti-Social", "I'm The Man" and the other one with Public Enemy was kinda fun (I can't remember the name of that tune off the top of my head)... And I'll add 2 more to this list, Testament and Canada's very own (and sexy) Lee Aaron. Take care...
