Yes, another 4x6 question
Im thinking about buying a some 4x6s for my Bird. Ive read the thread about how good the pioneers are but i want to try out the polks (db461p). I'm not only posting this to see if they will fit without hacking up my dashboard. I also wanted to find out if they where any good, hopefully someone has some so they can give me a good review on what they sound like in there Bird or Camero.
Thank you,

Re: Yes, another 4x6 question
I personally would prefer Polks over pioneers anyday. I had a set of 4x6 pioneers in a car i used to own. My personal opinion was they were crap. I think the factory speakers have better sound in camaros than pioneers. Anyways not to sway you another direction but have you looked into infininty 4x6 plate speakers at all? Either Kappa or Reference. I have the Kappas in my other car and have to say they are the best sounding 4x6 that ive found. Yes they will say you cant fit them in the camaros/birds but i did. I just had to unbolt the speaker mount and raise it up on some washers to clear. There is space though.
Edit: Just realized that your looking at plate speakers as well (the polks). I think you cant really go wrong with those or Kappas. They are about the same money depending on where you get them ( i got mine new on ebay way cheaper than from a store).

Re: Yes, another 4x6 question
Any 4x6 is crap..even pioneers....(which I always stand up for)the reason for that is that the irregular shaped cone wont be as efficient as a round one,and the difference will be even more noticeable in a speaker of that size.
If I was you I'd get myself some round polks. (3 1/2,4,4.25,5)
Im about to fit some 5.25 polks in my dash....will post pics when done.

Thats why the plate speakers your looking at will be better than anything else that fits there. White GTA has a point. The only reason the Kappas sound better is because they are basically not a 4x6. Its more like a 4 inch round sub with a tweeter off to the side.
