Power antenna question (with pic)

I bought a new antenna mast from MDM, and everything appears to be correct except that the new mast lacks the tab for the mounting bracket. Isn't this what keeps it from wobbling around inside the fender? Any ideas on what I should do here?

Re: Power antenna question (with pic)

I bought a mast about a year ago and I think what i did was cut out a u-shape with the dremel near those 4 holes. Then I just bent it up to create the tab.

Yeah it appears that's the way the stock one was. I was trying to avoid that but I may have to give it a try.

Yeah not the cleanest way to do it. But it has been working well for me so far.

Re: Power antenna question (with pic)

you can fix the plastic internal mast with stihl brand weed trimmer line, that is .135 in diameter

Re: Power antenna question (with pic)

My antenna was bent, which I think is what caused it to break in the first place.

I got it fixed though, I assembled it with the antenna extended, then when I plugged it up it went down like it's supposed to.
