Need some advice on fixing my factory radio
Hello all, great site. I did some searching but I still need some help, I know nothing about stereos.
I have a new to me 92 RS that has the factory AM/FM/Cassette player that only has sound coming out of the front left speaker. I need to buy several things for the car and funds for a new stereo are a ways off, so I'd like to get the factory system working on all 4 speakers if possible. Where do I start? How do I check to see if the radio or speakers are the problem?

Well this would be a good start:
Shows you which cables are connected to what.

my factory radio has a similar problem, only the left rear works, I tested the other speakers on a different radio and they play fine..the wiring appears fine.. so it may be the head unit..I'm not sure what can be done on the inside of those things...maybe hit it with a hammer.. I'm joking.. I'm probably just going to go to a CD player.. but make sure you get the wiring adapter so you don't have to cut up the factory wiring.

The speakers tested bad, so I bought some new ones. It helped a little, but the head unit still has issues. After doing a lot of internet reading it looks like the parts are not available to fix it, so I'm going to have to get an aftermarket unit. I know it will sound better, I was just hoping to keep the factory look.I

A lot of times it is the capacitor that goes bad on the channel that is not playing. A quick test with a multimeter should tell you.
Baja post a pic your radio. I may have a spare lying around.
