Rear Sail Mounting and Door Jam Vent issue
Rear Sail Mounting and Door Jam Vent issue
Just curious what the rear sail mounting depth is, I've been thinking about some setups, but I don't feel like taking my speakers out to find out what the depth is, so, if anyone knows, I'd like to know.
Also what's the clearance between the sail panels and the speaker? In case I need to use a spacer, if possible.
I've got a few idea's rolling around in my head. Some things I'd like to try, so I'd like to know the mounting depth for the space accessible for the rear sail speakers.
Does the depth vary from the top of the hole to the bottom, 'cause of the roll of the body?
Also, what can I do to make the door jam vents stop farting? (I'm not kidding, they sound like they're farting)

Did you figure this out? I'll be digging around in the car tomorrow, and can get measurements if you still need em. Yes, the bottom is deeper than the top.
On the farting issue, lol, not sure. the vents just go right into the space between the inside and outside panels...maybe tape some fabric in front of them and see if that messes up airflow enough to stop the sound.

I measured mine for reference a while ago. I still have the factory speaker "enclosures" in my car.

The lines are blurry in the tape measure, and it's upside down, but I hope it helps.

It's a pretty tight fit at the top of the sail panels due to the shape and curvature of the padding. It seems to me that many current 6"x9"s are going to be a little larger than the puny stock ones, so you may have to get a little creative during installation. What I did was cut a slit at the top to squeeze it in.
