Options for factory antenna replacement
I am wondering what is out there to replace my factory antenna yet still retain my factory radio. The antenna motor runs all the time and the cord to pull the antenna back down when the car is turned off is broken. I would like to fill in the hole and shave the antenna off completely, but if I do so, what options do I have to still have a working radio? I've heard something about putting an antenna in the windshield itself. Are there any further details as to how this is done?
Thanks

Re: Options for factory antenna replacement
Some have taken the stainless steel antenna and laid it under the dash pad. Personally, I haven't tried, but I've heard it works fairly well.
Also, there are aftermarket windshield mounted antennae which stick to the inside of the glass. E-Bay has a number of them, including one like this...

Re: Options for factory antenna replacement
Thanks, I found a shaved antenna thread that had people mention sticking a stock antenna in random hidden places but I couldn't find anything specific on something for the windshield. Seems to make more sense to run that wire down the A pillar under the trim, than trying to hide a whole factory antenna. I would have fixed that power antenna but its been done at least once before and the kit to repair it I believe is discontinued. So pointless, just use an antenna like you linked me to for local and on road trips its the Ipod in the factory radio. I'll be adding my stock bent and broken power antenna to the scrap bin then.
