trans am radio pod removal?

How the heck do you remove the radio pod on a '91 'bird?

I removed the 5 bolts that face the rear of the vehicle. Plus another 2 on the inside. it still won't come out. I'm trying to remove a 10mm bolt off the "floor" of the radio pod area. I've loosened that bolt all I can, but it wont come off the threaded studd its screwed on to.

thoughts?

thanks!
Bill

Re: trans am radio pod removal?

I had to remove the console to get it out. You might be able to twist it around after you remove the shifter handle.

Re: trans am radio pod removal?

It only took two bolts to get the radio pod free in my car. They were 10mm, where the pod meets the dash.
