How the hell do I get the radio out of a 1990 Lincoln Continental? I know how to release the radio itself, how do I get to that part though, don't see how the dash trim comes off....

 

When in doubt, pry! If you can't find any screws holding it on, then the dash trip is prolly held on with little plastic clips. If you carefully pull on the trim, it should snap off.

There are 2 holes on each side of the radio. You can buy the Ford removal tool at any parts house, and even at Sears. The tools just slide into each side, and then you push them apart. The radio will come right out. You can sometimes do it with stiff wire (coathanger) but it's very difficult.

I can get the radio itself out, coathangers.. But, I can't figure out how to get the trim off, Guess I'll pry..

 

Don't pry!!! i learned the hard way. New dash trim pieces can be expensive. Ford products usually need a special key to fit into the holes that go around the face plate. USE THIS KEY!

 

Ok, think about it mcgyver, youll need, three Qtips, four pencils, a pop top, some duct tape, and a chicken

Then you can look in magazines, or your haynes manual that will show you the piece when its off of the car, and that way youll see the tabs that are connected and get an idea how to pull em off

Go to www.installdr.com and click on install it yourself and then ford/lincoln and then on your car. All they have it for is a 1989 but it should be the same.
