What Guage of wire?

What guage of wire do you people use to wire up your speakers (not subs) 12 AWG seems kinda big to run to anything like that. Yet the factory wire seems so pethectic to say the least about 20-22awg wire i think.

I'm using 12 AWG on my subs and 14 AWG on my components. Not really necessary, but then again neither is 140dB in a car.

If I had an installation where the wire actually showed, I'd use 8 AWG power wire.
