MTX 2300 , Good?
I have recently purchased a mtx 2300 amp off ebay, (I haven't recieved it yet.)
Here's my setup, i'm gonna run the amp to my kenwood kdc mp8017, the amp will power my AUDIOBAHN ABP12 BANDPASS with 2 12's in it. The amp can supposedly put out 900Wrms @4ohms briged, and 300x2 @ 2ohm i think. I heard one guy talking about running the subs parallell to reduce the resistance, or something like that,. i was wondering how you would do that and if it would work where the subs are already in a pre made factory box..
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Kinda depends on when the amp was manufactured...
About 3 years ago (back when I worked in the industry) the MTX 2300 was the largest boomerang amp we sold. The essentially fry the output stage constantly. I would say that 90% of the 2300's we sold were either returned for repair or just flat out returned for something else (Kicker usually).
Now, they may have fixed the problem since then as this was 3 years ago, but just my past experiance with them.

I have a RT 2600 and the birth sheet has it at 208x2 at 4 ohms and 349x2 at 2 ohms. all of which is 12.5 volts. But like stated above It all depens on the year it was made. This is from last year before they went to the chrome look.
Most of them I have seen with model #'s such as 2300 usually is 300 watts total but im not sure. Whan you get it look and see how many fuses and how many amps they are rated at. mone is 90 amps total
