My car is out of action for along while and the speakers in my room suck......Coun I hook up my Kappas.....the new silver ones(got them half price new in box
)??? The would connect to a receiver....not a boombox...Also what would be a good size encolser for them or shoudl I just mount them free air and a piece of wood?

Yep you can hook up your speakers to your home stereo receiver. Some of them even has a switch on the back of them to change the ohms from 8ohms to 4ohms. I've hooked up all kinds of subs and other things to my home theater out a problem. CAUTION: By hooking up 4ohms speakers will cause the impendance on your receiver to drop to 4ohms. Your receiver my not be able to carry a 4ohm load. By dropping the ohms could damage your receiver! So refer to your owners manual or the manufacturer for more info. The enclosure is the same as with installing it into a car.
