aftermarket stereo speakers buzzing when accelerating
So I bought my car about a year ago in pretty good condition with aftermarket stereo system. But one problem that I've noticed when the speakers are turned down (especially after putting in a new sub system) the left side back speaker buzzes when i push the gas, the higher the rpm gets the higher pitch the buzzing gets. I'm guessing its interference in the wire going to the battery since its the only one going near the accelerator. No idea whats causing it.
Any suggestions will help!
And in case your wondering when we put in the subs we did not rewire the car, the speakers were already hooked up to an amp in the trunk. All we did was hook up the new amp and sub. car was rewired by previous owner.

Usually down to bad grounding.
Go through and clean ground points, maybe improve the ground the amp is using. Make sure the speaker wire is not running directly next to as 12v live wire.

I'll be sure to do that. Gotta trace my window switch wires, while I'm at it I'll be sure to go ahead and check those wires too.
thanks thtanner, I'm new to all the wiring stuff for stereos

You need a filter on your power wire. The buzzing is from noise coming through the power in into the radio

thtanner is right. You have a problem with noise getting into the speaker wire. That noise can come from running the speaker wire alongside a power wire (Easiest solution is to try and buy some wire shielding), grounding the head unit/amp with other electrical items (use separate grounds a sufficient distance apart). It can also be coming from the alternator/block/battery not being sufficiently grounded. Make sure the battery itself uses ground wires as thick as the power cable and it grounds 2 or 3 spots. Make sure the block and heads are both grounded. Best case the block is grounded, heads are each grounded separately, transmission is grounded and there is NO corrosion between the alternator and it's bracket and the bracket to the engine/heads.
