JL Audio makes a 6.5" true sub, not just a mid bass driver. Also they are really cool if you put them in kickpanels up front for that kickass bass in your face. Check out their website for more info. www.jlaudio.com

Kicker also makes a free air 6.5 Inch subwoofer that might not be too bad. Personally I prefer the SQ of JL Audio.
You are not going to get much bass from a 6.5" driver. I would use at least an 8" driver in a good ported enclosure to get true sub bass. Again JL Audio makes about the best sounding subwoofers money can buy for the money.
